Photo Gallery: See "A Path Less Traveled," the New Public Art Installation at LSMSA

Students returning to campus from Spring Break were welcomed back by artists Jeffrey Reed and Jennifer Madden's "A Path Less Traveled," LSMSA's new public art installation dedicated to the pioneering naturalist Caroline Dormon.

Madden described the sculpture as "a sort of outdoor museum" dedicated to Dormon, who led the charge to establish Kisatchie National Forest. The installation features five stainless steel trees--each illuminated from within--with 17 limb structures and 6,000 handmade needles! The installation is located between the Center for Performance and Technology (CPT) and the Living Learning Commons (LLC) on LSMSA's campus.

"A Path Less Traveled" is supported in part by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development, and the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal agency.
