We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2024. Current 9th, 10th, or 11th graders are encouraged to begin their applications for next school year. While the application period for Fall 2024 will remain open through early July, prospective students are encouraged to begin the process ASAP, as teacher and counselor recommendations can be difficult to acquire after the school year ends!

Begin the application process.

For current freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are interested in attending LSMSA, instructions regarding the components of the application process are listed below.

Note: Once you begin the application process, a Progress Page with a Checklist will be created for you in our online application system. As you complete each stage, the next steps will be unlocked and will appear on the checklist. Most of the steps are completed by accessing that checklist.  You must complete Stage 1 before the other stages will appear on your checklist.

List of 8 items.

  • Stage 1: Complete and submit the online application.

    • The application contains sections which must be completed by the applicant and the parent/guardian.
    • Be sure to answer application questions thoughtfully and completely.
    • The application must be completed before you can begin the next steps, so complete and submit your application as soon as possible.
    • Click on the "Apply Now" button to get started!
  • Stage 2: Submit your ACT, SAT, PreACT, or PSAT scores.

    • Upload a copy of your standardized test scores - don't forget that your name must also be visible
    • If you don't already have standardized test scores, you may register for and/or take the test before you have unlocked this stage of the application.
    • If your test scores are more than a year old, we strongly encourage you to take a new test
    • If taking the ACT, we recommend the December 9th or February 10th test dates.
    • If taking the SAT, we recommend the December 2nd test date.
    • When registering, please be sure to use code 6351 in the four-digit space for reports to colleges and scholarship programs. This code will ensure that your test scores will be sent to LSMSA in a timely manner.

    • Upload copies of your previous score reports or ask your guidance counselor to fax or email copies of your state testing record to Enrollment Services.
    • We do not require reports from the current year. We are interested in your testing history.
    • If you have attended private school or are home-schooled, this requirement will be waived.
  • Stage 2: Request letters of recommendation.

    • Using the forms found within your application checklist, complete the online request for letters of recommendation from a principal or guidance counselor, a math or science teacher and an English teacher.
  • Stage 2: Submit your current grades

    • Upload a copy of your grades for the Fall 2023 semester.
    • If you submit current grades before the fall semester is over, we will ask you to send us your final grades for the first semester before we make any final admissions decision.
  • Any time: Visit LSMSA.

  • Stage 3: Complete an interview.

    • Once your application checklist is complete, we'll contact you to schedule a time for an interview. Most of our interviews are completed over the phone or via video conference, so it will not require that you come to campus.
We are now accepting applications for the 2024-25 school year.

It's a good idea to keep copies of all documents pertaining to your application for your records.

Supplemental application materials may be uploaded, faxed, or emailed.

Campus Visit Information

All applicants are encouraged to visit the campus at least once during the application process for an Exploration Day or a family tour.

Visiting campus is the very best way to experience LSMSA, as it offers an opportunity to see the school in action, sit in on classes, and meet other prospective students.

Individual campus visits and family tours are available to those in the application process. Please contact our office admissions@lsmsa.edu if you would like to schedule a tour.
