Begin the application process.

For current freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are interested in attending LSMSA, instructions regarding the components of the application process are listed below.

(Note: Once you begin the application process, a Progress Page with a Checklist will be created for you in our online application system. Most of the steps are completed by accessing that checklist.)

List of 7 items.

  • Complete and submit the online application.

    • The application contains sections which must be completed by the applicant and the parent/guardian.
    • Complete and submit your application as soon as possible. 
  • Register to take the ACT or SAT.

    • If taking the ACT, we recommend the December 11th or February 12th test dates.
    • If taking the SAT, we recommend the December 4th test date.  
    • When registering for either the ACT or the SAT, please be sure to use code 6351 in the four-digit space for reports to colleges and scholarship programs. This code will ensure that your test scores will be sent to LSMSA in a timely manner.

  • Submit LEAP/EOC scores.

    • Upload copies of your score reports or ask your guidance counselor to fax or email copies of your state testing record to Enrollment Services.
    • If you have attended private school or are home-schooled, this requirement will be waived. 
  • Request letters of recommendation.

    • Complete the online request for letters of recommendation from a principal or guidance counselor, a math teacher and an English teacher.
  • Submit your transcript.

    • Upload a copy of your grades for the current year. 
    • Upload a copy of your transcript (it does not have to be an official copy) or any previous year report cards reflecting high school credit you have earned.  
  • Visit LSMSA.

  • Complete an interview.

    • Once your application is complete, we'll contact you to schedule a time for an interview. Most of our interviews are completed over the phone, so it will not require that you come to campus.
It's a good idea to keep copies of all documents pertaining to your application for your records.

Campus Visit Information

All applicants are encouraged to visit the campus at least once during the application process for an Exploration Day or a family tour.

Visiting campus is the very best way to experience LSMSA, as it offers an opportunity to see the school in action, sit in on classes, and meet other prospective students.

Individual campus visits and family tours are available to those in the application process. Please contact our office admissions@lsmsa.edu if you would like to schedule a tour.
