LSMSA Gallery Announces Spring Artist Receptions including Tom Richard, Anne Bujold and Claire Shultz, and LSMSA Student Artists

The LSMSA Gallery, an exhibition space located inside of the Center for Performance and Technology (CPT) at Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, will host three public receptions featuring in-person appearances by guest artists this Spring.

The LSMSA Gallery is located on the first floor of the CPT, which is situated on the west side of the LSMSA High School Building at 715 University Parkway in Natchitoches. Admission to the Spring 2024 receptions is free and open to the public.

The LSMSA Gallery hosts six professional art exhibitions per year--three per semester--with the goal of bringing LSMSA and the public community together.

"The objective is to expose our students and campus to a variety of artists working in various mediums and styles," said Chris King, Principal Lecturer of Arts at LSMSA. "In addition to creating their work, [our visiting artists] often travel pretty far to our school, from places like New Orleans, Lafayette, and Little Rock."

The upcoming schedule of opening receptions includes: Tom Richard, Painting and Art Department Chair at the University of Arkansas, Thursday, March 14; Anne Bujold, Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and Claire Amy Schultz, Assistant Professor of Art Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Tuesday, Apr. 9; and the annual LSMSA Student Show, Thursday, May 9. All receptions open at 4 p.m. and close at 6:30 p.m. Plenty of free parking is located nearby, including the large surface parking lot beside Northwestern State University of Louisiana’s Eugene P. Watson Memorial Library.
