31st Annual SLAMT Planned for Saturday, March 2 at LSMSA

Teams from the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA) and the Texas Academy at UNT will visit LSMSA for a day of competition and camaraderie.
LSMSA Athletics will host visiting student athletes and coaches from ASMSA as well as The Texas Academy at UNT on Saturday, March 2, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., for the 31st annual SLAMT games. SLAMT brings together LSMSA and its sister schools each year for a competition that typically includes highly competitive events in categories like billiards, volleyball, ultimate, girl’s basketball, flag football, boy’s basketball, soccer, and tennis. SLAMT is an acronym that stands for “Schools of Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Texas.”

“SLAMT is a big deal for our kids,” said Dale Clingerman, Coordinator of Athletics and Recreation at LSMSA. “This year, we will be competing against our sister schools in seven different events.”

The 31st annual SLAMT will kick-off with a 4:30 p.m. pep rally on Friday, March 1. Competition will take place at locations around campus from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and winners of the games will be announced during a 6:30 p.m. awards ceremony in the LSMSA gymnasium. For regular updates from the SLAMT competition, follow LSMSA Athletics on Instagram at @lsmsaathletics.

Fans of LSMSA Athletics can show their support for the program by purchasing LSMSA Eagles sportswear including t-shirts, hoodies, basketball shorts, and more through the Fisher’s Sports and Signs website. Orders must be placed online by March 8 and will be delivered to the school before Spring Break.
