Nine perform in student recital

Vocalists and instrumentalists showcase talents
A mixture of vocal and instrumental performances were presented during a student recital held Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the recital hall of the Center for Performance and Technology at LSMSA.

Performers included Chirstan Bates, a sophomore from Ruston; Sydney Sorbet, a sophomore from Covington; Kathy Barrios, a senior from Houma; Garett Byrne, a senior from Walker; Christopher Comeaux, a junior from Covington; Mason Boudreaux, a sophomore from Thibodaux; Jonas Truax, a junior from Denham Springs; Julian Hunter, a senior from Lafayette; and Juan Cecchini, a junior from Denham Springs.

Chirstan Bates, soprano, sang “The Water is Wide”; Sydney Sorbet, soprano, sang “Intorno al idol mio” from “Orontea”; Kathy Barrios, soprano, sang “Se Florindo é Fedele” from “La donna ancora é fedele”; Garett, bass, sang “Widmung”; Christopher Comeaux, bass, sang “The Vagabond” from “Songs of Travel”; Mason Boudreaux played “Revolution” on piano; Jonas Truax on trombone and Garett Byrne on bass trombone played “Le Nozze Di Figaro”; and Julian Hunter on trumpet, Juan Cecchini on horn, Jonas Truax on trombone and Garett Byrne on bass trombone played “Go, Tell It on the Mountain.”

Performers were accompanied by Dr. Charles Jones, senior lecturer of piano at LSMSA.

The student recital was coordinated by Dr. Al Benner, senior lecturer of instrumentals, theory and composition and chair of the Department of Creative and Performing Arts, and Lisa Benner, senior lecturer of voice and chorale.
