Five visual arts students from LSMSA visited the Department of Art and Design at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette on Wednesday, March 29. Students met faculty, spoke with students and visited classrooms. They also visited several art exhibitions by graduating seniors, followed by a tour of the Hilliard Museum. Students making the trip include Ellie Williamson, a senior from Reeves; Grace Wells, a junior from Ball; Makayla Dupre, a junior from Jeanerette; Caroline Jin, a junior from Shreveport; and Dakota Trim, a sophomore from Baton Rouge.
Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
