Senator Katrina R. Jackson

At Pleasure of Senate Committee on Education

A life-long resident of Ouachita, Parish, Senator Katrina Jackson represents Louisiana Senate District 34 which includes portions of Ouachita, Morehouse, Richland, Tensas, Madison, East Carroll, and Concordia Parishes. After serving two terms in the Louisiana House of Representatives, she ran unopposed for the senate seat in 2019.

Senator Jackson serves as Vice-Chair of the Senate Education Committee. She also represents District 34 on the Senate Committee on Finance, the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, Senate Committee of Insurance, and the Senate Committee on Agriculture.

Senator Jackson has previously served as the Vice-Chair of the Democratic Caucus, the Chair of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, and the Secretary of the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus.
