LSMSA Reschedules Full Exploration Day to April 27
Nicolle Niette
NATCHITOCHES, LA– The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) has announced that its Exploration Day event, originally scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2026, has been rescheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026. Due to unexpected necessary work in the residence hall, the school has temporarily transitioned to online instruction. LSMSA has expressed gratitude for the understanding and flexibility of its current and prospective families as the school works through this process.
Families already registered for the March 30 date are still welcome to visit LSMSA’s campus to meet school directors and tour the school’s non-residential areas. Families who would prefer to wait for the full Exploration Day experience are encouraged to update their registration to the April 27 date, which will offer class visits, campus tours, dining in the cafeteria, and the opportunity to explore the school's exceptional living and learning environment. Private visits may also be arranged for late April for families unable to attend either event.
Current 8th graders who are unable to visit this spring are encouraged to attend Fall 2026 Exploration Day, the date of which is being finalized.
"Exploration Day offers families a firsthand look at the remarkable opportunities available to students attending LSMSA," said Emily Shumate, Director of Enrollment Management and Outreach. "We look forward to welcoming prospective students and their families to campus on April 27 for the full experience our program has to offer."
Exploration Day is recommended for students currently in 8th grade or higher. Families wishing to register, change their attendance date, or request a private visit may do so at www.LSMSA.edu/visit.
