    From Student to Artist: How LSMSA Shaped Dance Alum Alyse Huguet

    NATCHITOCHES, LA – When 2023 Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) graduate Alyse Huguet stepped back onto the Treen Auditorium stage in the fall of 2025 to perform "The Martyrs" alongside fellow dance alum Madeline Lorio, she returned as an artist whose creative identity was first sparked within those same walls. Choreographed by Crystal Lewis & Dancers and set to "Universo” by Dom La Nena, the duet was featured in LSMSA’s 2025 Informal Fall Dance Concert, an evening that held quiet but powerful significance for Huguet, who wore a pair of pants once used as a costume in 2021, her initials still marked on the tag.

  • LSMSA JCL at the 2026 Louisiana Junior Classical League Convention.

    LSMSA Junior Classical League Wins Over 200 Awards at 75th Annual Louisiana Convention 

    “In harmony, small things grow,” the 2026 Louisiana Junior Classical League (LJCL) Convention’s theme, from Sallust, Bellum Jugurthinum, seemingly foreshadowed the spectacular performance of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) Junior Classical League (JCL) club. What was expected to be a rebuilding year for the LSMSA chapter resulted in a series of successes at the three-day competition in Baton Rouge, where students competed in academic, athletic, creative art, graphic art, and spirit competitions. LSMSA’s delegation of twenty-three Latin, Greek, and Classical Studies students won 190 individual awards, 30 group awards, and placed 2nd overall in Convention Sweepstakes.

    NATCHITOCHES, LA – The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) has announced that its Exploration Day event, originally scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2026, has been rescheduled for Monday, April 27, 2026. Due to unexpected necessary work in the residence hall, the school has temporarily transitioned to online instruction. LSMSA has expressed gratitude for the understanding and flexibility of its current and prospective families as the school works through this process.

  • Facility Update

    LSMSA Temporarily Transitions to Online Instruction 



    NATCHITOCHES, LA. – The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) will transition to online instruction for two weeks, beginning Wednesday, March 25, and continuing through Thursday, April 2. There will be no classes on March 23 and 24 to allow students time to return home and prepare for remote learning. Spring Break will take place as scheduled from Friday, April 3, through Sunday, April 12. The dormitories are currently projected to reopen on Sunday, April 12, so that in-person classes may resume on April 13.
