LSMSA students nationally recognized by College Board

The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) announces that several of its students have earned academic honors through the 2025 College Board National Recognition Program.
This national program recognizes high-achieving students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance on College Board assessments such as the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and Advanced Placement® (AP) Exams. Each year, students across the country are selected for recognition in one or more categories based on their achievements and background.

The following LSMSA juniors and seniors were honored in three award categories:

Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award:
Caiden Bergeron of Vacherie, Cameron Brunson of Natchitoches, Anika Chegireddy of Monroe, Bryan Chen of Natchitoches, and Annabel Schleifstein of New Orleans

First-Generation Recognition Award:
Chen, Logan Schexnider of Arnaudville, Evelyn Richie of Paulina, and Ashlynn Stafford of Denham Springs

School Recognition Award:
Anika Chegireddy, Chen, Patrick Perdue of Prarieville, Schexnider, and Schleifstein

“LSMSA students consistently rise to meet the highest academic standards, and this national recognition reflects their hard work, curiosity, and commitment to learning,” said Dr. Steve Horton, Executive Director of LSMSA. “We are proud to see their accomplishments acknowledged on a national level—it speaks to the quality of our students, our faculty, and the supportive community that empowers them to reach their full potential.”

Students qualify for the National Recognition Program by maintaining a GPA of 3.3 or higher, earning top scores on College Board assessments, and ranking among the top 10% of test takers in their high school, state, or award category.

The recognition connects students with thousands of colleges and scholarship organizations, expanding their postsecondary opportunities and increasing access to merit-based aid.
