LSMSA's Sharon Turcan Gahagan Gallery to Host "Recollection" Through Oct. 28

The exhibit, which was curated by LSMSA alum Rachel Schnadelbach ('19), showcases recent works from four Southeast Louisiana women artists.

LSMSA's Sharon Turcan Gahagan Gallery has opened a new visual arts exhibit, Recollection, which will be on display now through Monday, Oct. 28. Recollection was curated by LSMSA alum Rachel Schnadelbach ('19) and features multimedia works by Schnadelbach as well as artists Aileigh Simmons, Katie Singleton, and Ginina Biondini. All four artists featured in the exhibit are women from Southeast Louisiana.

The Sharon Turcan Gahagan Gallery is located on the first floor of LSMSA's Center for Performance & Technology (CPT), which is situated just to the west of LSMSA's High School Building at 715 University Parkway in Natchitoches. Standard hours of operation for the Sharon Turcan Gahagan Gallery are from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday. On Monday, Oct. 28, the gallery will host a closing reception for the artists, 4-6 p.m. A campus map of LSMSA may be viewed here.

According to press materials provided by LSMSA's Creative and Performing Arts Department, the colorful, multimedia exhibit "celebrates the intimate sanctity of the walls and windows that make up the structure our lives" by "allowing viewers to delight in the oddities of wild texture, bright color, and familiar shapes. The work calls to mind the many spaces that play backdrop to our most cherished moments."
