Brandon Daniel (’00) received his B.S. in Finance and an additional B.S. in Accounting with a concentration in Internal Auditing from Louisiana State University.
While attending school he interned for Legg Mason as a broker’s assistant and for Macy’s as an internal audit intern.
During his career, he has obtained experience in process documentation and implementation, risk management and control implementation, internal and external financial reporting and accounting, issue management, and project management among other skills.
He currently works at American Express, initially working with the internal audit group as part of the finance audit team, which primarily focused on reviews of the finance, controllership, treasury, and tax functions within American Express. From there, he was promoted to a manager in the enterprise operational risk management group focusing on regulatory compliance, customer data-protection and privacy, and proper process execution. His current role of senior manager of operational risk focuses more on process implementation versus risk governance and concentrates only on the finance organization within the company.
As an alumnus of LSMSA, Brandon has served as a volunteer on the LSMSA Foundation’s Finance Committee for the past three years and has assisted with planning an On The Road alumni event in New York.
