Sue Rosenthal

Sue Rosenthal (’85) has been a practicing attorney in Houston, Texas for the past twenty years and recently relocated to Baton Rouge.
Sue began her legal career as an associate at the Dallas based Winstead, P.C. law firm. She was also a partner at both the Philadelphia based Blank Rome LLP law firm and at Abrams, Scott and Bickley, a Houston litigation boutique, before joining the ExxonMobil law department in 2014.  Sue currently serves as Senior Counsel and is active on the company’s Pro Bono and Law Diversity and Inclusion committees.

Sue hails from the small community of Bayou Rapides outside of Boyce in Rapides Parish.  She credits the Louisiana School with giving her the confidence and knowledge that enabled her to further pursue her education and view the sky as the limit for opportunity.  She knew that if she could compete at the Louisiana School with the state’s best and brightest, she could compete anywhere.  Sue is a graduate of the First Class of the Louisiana School in 1985.  She then went on to earn a B.S. in Microbiology from Howard University in Washington, D.C., a M.S. in Immunology from Stanford University in Palo Alto, Ca. and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Sue’s primary objective for her work on the Foundation is to insure that the school does not lose talent, and students don’t miss out on a life changing opportunity because of financial challenges which can be met with needed assistance.  She also wants the educational experiences at and competitiveness of the school to be less vulnerable to state budget impacts.
