Dr. Kyle Stephens - Faculty Representative

LSMSA Faculty Representative
Dr. Kyle Stephens studied at the University of Alabama (B.A., History & Religious Studies), as a member of the inaugural class of the Blount Undergraduate Initiative (now the Blount Scholars Program). He also holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst (M.A., History) and the University of Tennessee (Ph.D., American History), where he was an inaugural Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Tennessee Humanities Center.
 
Since arriving at LSMSA in 2015, he has taught American History and The History of American Enterprise, a rigorous one-semester survey of U.S. economic history. Dr. Stephens also regularly offers classes on The Age of FDR, The Era of the Cold War, The American Civil War Era, and The Making of the Modern Middle East. He was elected Faculty Representative to the Board of Directors in 2023.

Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts

Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
