College Credit Opportunities at LSMSA
LSMSA offers several paths for students to earn college credit while still in high school, helping them get ahead and prepare for college.

Articulation Agreements: Partner universities award college credit for select LSMSA courses.
Dual Enrollment: Students may take courses that count for both high school and college credit.
Associate of General Studies: Eligible students can earn an associate degree, recognizing their college-level work at LSMSA.
These options give students a strong academic head start and greater flexibility for their future studies.
Articulation Agreements
Our college-level academic program is recognized by 13 universities in Louisiana and one in Georgia. These schools have established special agreements—called articulation agreements—with LSMSA. An articulation agreement is taking a course with an LSMSA instructor and receiving college credit for a corresponding course at a participating college.
Articulation credits do not require any extra classes or any additional fees.

- Enter college with a strong academic advantage
Depending on the university, students may receive more than 70 hours of general education credit when they enroll as undergraduates at these colleges.

Dual Enrollment
The Dual Enrollment (DE) Program provides students the opportunity to earn college credit for their LSMSA classes. Dual Enrollment is taking a course with an LSMSA instructor and receiving college credit for a corresponding course at Northwestern State University. Dual enrollment does not require any extra classes and typically does not require attendance at NSU. LSMSA students benefit from an NSU tuition waiver that makes most dual enrollment courses available at zero cost to students.
Dual Enrollment at LSMSA is completely optional, and students may opt in or out on a semester-by-semester basis.

Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts
Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
