Sam Jensen Augustine

Sam Jensen Augustine ('94) is a Director of Design and Construction at the University of Utah where he works on Infrastructure, Capital Improvement, and Sustainability focused construction projects.
Sam's professional career has spanned a number of fields. He has worked as a licensed Architect, international development literacy Program Facilitator, Emergency Room Case Manager, and Water Treatment Plant technician. Prior to his work at the University of Utah Sam led a team teaching Architects, Engineers, Building Operators and Builders how to design, construct, and operate energy efficient buildings. He has a B.S. in Industrial and Environmental Microbiology from Brigham Young University and Masters of Architecture with a focus on Environmental Controls Systems from the University of Oregon.
 
In his spare time Sam is working on restoring a historic Japanese American home in downtown Salt Lake. Sam was Student Government Organization Vice President while at LSMSA and looks forward to making a more meaningful contribution to the school this time around.

Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
