LSMSA’s Leadership Academy debuts with inspiring presentation by Alum Ben Marcel
The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts is excited to officially announce the launch of a new Leadership Academy. For its first official guest speaker, LSMSA alumnus Ben Marcel returned to campus to share a wealth of hard-earned wisdom with students, drawing from his journey from adoption in Taiwan to academic challenges at LSMSA, and ultimately to building a successful technology business spanning IT services, cybersecurity, data management, and digital communications. Students From Across Louisiana Gathered for 24th Annual McGrath Math Competition at LSMSA
Schools from across Louisiana gathered on Nov. 20 for the 24th Annual McGrath Math Competition, hosted by the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA). The long-running event brought middle-grade students from sixth through ninth grade to the Natchitoches campus for a full day of problem-solving, teamwork, and spirited academic competition.Read More -
Finding Her Voice: How LSMSA Senior Graci Noel turned setbacks into strength
Read MoreFor LSMSA senior Graci Noel, speaking up has always come naturally, whether she’s on the theatre stage, participating in classroom discussions, or standing before a panel of judges. A member of the Class of 2026 from Kaplan, Graci has competed in speech and debate since her freshman year of high school. When she first joined the LSMSA student body for her junior year, there was no official club for speech and debate, but she was determined to keep her passion alive.

Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
