LSMSA Foundation News: Phil and Mary Lou Brown Issue Pi Day Giving Challenge

Longtime LSMSA supporters Phil and Mary Lou Brown are getting into the spirit of Pi Day 2024—LSMSA’s annual Day of Giving, planned for Wednesday, March 14—by issuing a “giving challenge” to fellow donors.
The Browns have pledged to donate $3,141 if the LSMSA Foundation receives 100 or more gifts by midnight on March 14. This challenge was conceived as a way to encourage others to give without concern for the size of their gift. Each gift received on Pi Day, regardless of size, brings the Foundation one step closer to unlocking the additional $3,141. To make a gift during the Pi Day 2024 fundraiser, visit www.lsmsa.edu and select “Give to LSMSA” before midnight on Thursday, March 14.
The Browns have previously supported LSMSA in other creative ways, including by hosting graduation parties and meat pie-making classes in their Natchitoches home. They are the proud grandparents of LSMSA alum Rachel Sheffield (’16) and parents of LSMSA Foundation Assistant Director Juliana Sheffield.
“We just love the school and students, and we appreciate the education that our granddaughter received,” said Mary Lou Brown. “We are so happy that we can provide this challenge gift to support LSMSA’s day of giving.”
The LSMSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to develop and manage resources that enhance the work of LSMSA. Gifts made to the Foundation are tax deductible.
