What is Dual Enrollment?

The Dual Enrollment (DE) Program provides students the opportunity to earn college credit for their LSMSA classes. Dual Enrollment is taking a course with an LSMSA instructor and receiving college credit for a corresponding course at Northwestern State University. Dual enrollment does not require any extra classes and typically does not require attendance at NSU. LSMSA students benefit from an NSU tuition waiver that makes most dual enrollment courses available at zero cost to students.

Dual Enrollment at LSMSA is completely optional, and students may opt in or out on a semester-by-semester basis.

ADVANTAGES

Tuition waivers make most dual enrollment courses FREE to LSMSA students.
Earning college credit while at LSMSA helps stretch financial aid, scholarships, and family budgets.
The overall time needed to earn a college degree after LSMSA may be reduced.
Credits may be applied toward an Associate of General Studies (AGS) degree at NSU.

The Louisiana Department of Education and the Board of Regents have partnered together to provide families with information and resources regarding Dual Enrollment.

As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
