LSMSA invites community to free theatre performances

Students to perform two Sam Shepard one-act plays Nov. 8-10, Nov. 12

The LSMSA Theatre Department invites the community to RSVP for their performance of two one-act plays, The Unseen Hand and Icarus’s Mother, both written by the late Sam Shepard. Performances will be at 7 p.m. from Wednesday through Friday evenings, Nov. 8-10, and at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12 in the school’s Blackbox Theatre in the CPT. All shows are free and open to the public, but due to limited seating, reservations must be made in advance at lsmsa.ludus.com

Both shows contain intense scenes which include: guns and sounds of gunfire, flashing lights, some aggressive language, discussion and examples of bullying and domestic abuse. The shows would likely merit a PG-13 rating in a movie theatre.

LSMSA, recently ranked in the top 1% of high schools by Niche and named a World’s Best Boarding Schools by Fortune magazine, is a tuition-free, public high school for high-achieving rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a nominal room and board fee to cover housing, meals, and campus activities.
