LSMSA invites public to special Veterans’ Day program Nov. 9

Second executive director and retired Army National Guard Colonel Dr. Richard Brown to be honored
LSMSA will honor all veterans with an emphasis on the school’s second executive director, Dr. Richard Brown, at an annual program in the auditorium of the High School Building on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 4:15 p.m. The event is open to the public in-person and will be livestreamed.

LSMSA’s second executive director Dr. Richard Brown, who retired as a Colonel in the National Guard in 1990 after more than 30 years of service, began LSMSA and subsequent area schools’ Veterans' Day ceremonies in 1986. He believed that Veterans’ Day ceremonies offered a way for the student body to acknowledge our military men and women and their families for their service to the United States.

“We are incredibly grateful for all veterans who have fought for our freedom, including those right here in the Louisiana School family,” said Steve Horton, Executive Director of LSMSA. “We look forward to having the Natchitoches community join us as we honor the selfless sacrifice of those who have served.”
