Student Spotlight: Q&A with Imani Williams ('26) of Shreveport

Q: If you could put your experience at LSMSA into two sentences, what would you say? 
A: I would say it’s been challenging, but definitely worth the work. My experience here has been one that I will never forget. 

Q: Why did you decide to attend LSMSA? 
A: I decided to attend LSMSA for a harder curriculum and a better education. 

Q: How did you hear about LSMSA? 
A: I heard about LSMSA through the mail. 

Q: How do you hope your education at LSMSA will impact your future? 
A: I hope the education I received at LSMSA will prepare me for the future in not only education, but also in time management and being able to balance my social and workload.  

Q: What’s your favorite extracurricular activity at LSMSA?
A: My favorite extracurricular activity at LSMSA is volleyball. 

Q: How would you describe LSMSA to someone who has never heard of it? 
A: I would describe LSMSA as a school with a hard curriculum, but welcoming community ready to help you in whatever area you need.  

Q: What would you say to someone who is considering supporting LSMSA financially? 
A: We would appreciate it immensely if you donated. Even if you can’t donate a lot, a little goes a long way. 

Q: What would you say to someone who is considering attending LSMSA? 
A: I would say that it seems scary at first, but to make close friends, communicate with people (especially your roommates), and to talk to your teachers and classmates if you need help. 

Q: What is your best advice for fellow LSMSA students? 
A: My best advice is to take advantage of the student tutors here, teacher office hours, the time you are given, and the experience here as a whole.
