August is National Make-a-Will Month 

“National Make a Will Month” is the perfect time to be reminded of the importance of drafting or updating your will to ensure your final wishes are executed as you intended, including any charitable organizations you wish to support. 
 
There is a common misconception that unless you’re wealthy, you do not need a will—but that’s furthest from the truth. Every family, regardless of their wealth should have a will because of the peace of mind and ease that it can bring upon the person’s passing. If there is no will, things have a tendency of getting complicated, quickly leading to the state’s involvement, possible family feuds and ultimately a delay in settlements. 

National Make a Will month is an opportune time to discuss a topic that is both meaningful and impactful: leaving a legacy gift to LSMSA in your will. By including LSMSA in your estate plans, you have the power to make a lasting impact that will transcend generations, empowering young minds for years to come. 

Legacy gifts come in various forms, and each one can leave a profound mark on the future of LSMSA. Some options include: 
  • Bequests: You can designate a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or a residual gift after providing for your loved ones.
