LSMSA displays Jonathan Clayton’s art, invites community to reception
Natchitoches artist Jonathan Clayton’s work will be available to view in the LSMSA Art Gallery throughout October 26. In addition, a reception with the NSU photography instructor will be held Thursday, October 20 from 4:30 – 6 p.m. The reception and art gallery are free to visit.
Prior to earning an MFA in photography from Louisiana Tech University in 2018, Clayton he worked, played and photographed in Beijing, China for 12 years, with inspiration to teach himself photography as well as seek out professional photographers.
Clayton finds use in discarded objects, treasures aging people, and seeks to revitalize dying places scattered through the landscape. He also focuses on reconnecting with ignored and forgotten places, including areas that are endangered and will soon disappear if nothing is done to protect them.
