“When the school was closing for COVID, the completion of Folio 2020 seemed impossible, but the students came together before leaving campus to ensure that would not be the case,” said Allen. “Luckily all submissions were already in and the students were able to vote on what to include before leaving campus, and the Foundation was able to secure InDesign subscriptions for the magazine’s two layout editors to help ease the transition.”

Although working remotely and relying on emails between editors and faculty sponsors was a challenge, the team relied heavily on trust and resulted in a student-led project that also served as an unexpected learning experience in how to perform in extreme circumstances.
