Biology instructor and four students visit local elementary school
Landry coordinates demonstrations on anatomy and physiology
Fifth grade students at NSU Elementary Lab enjoyed a visit from a biology instructor and four students from LSMSA on Thursday, Nov. 2. Dr. Allison Landry, principal lecturer of biology and chair of the Department of Science, coordinated five stations for the students to learn more about anatomy and physiology. The first station was constructing an arm from bones; the next was constructing a leg from bones; the third was constructing a model of muscles and bones to demonstrate how muscles move bones; the fourth was testing grip and pinch strength; and the last station was the effect of standing and sitting on heart rate. Student assistants were Bryce Moulton, a senior from Natchitoches; Angela Fang, a senior from Mandeville; Grayce Mores, a senior from Harvey; and Milla Reddick, a senior from Grand Cane.
