Thirteen attend leadership retreat at Lake Bistineau State Park
Students participate in team building activities
Students from LSMSA spent the weekend of Oct. 6-8 at Lake Bistineau State Park to participate in a leadership retreat. The weekend was packed full of leadership activities, team builder exercises and fun social events and free time. Chaperones for the retreat included Jenny Schmitt, assistant director of student life; Dr. Stephen Costin, a chemistry instructor; and Dr. Michele Stover, a chemistry instructor. Students attending the retreat include Juan Cecchini, a junior from Denham Springs; Allison Allsop, a sophomore from Montz; Siobahn Stanley, a sophomore from Stonewall; Katriane Creel, a sophomore from Shreveport; Cece Warren, a sophomore from Many; Cayla Garrett, a sophomore from Shreveport; Taylor Rutherford, a sophomore from Lake Charles; Hayden Fanning, a senior from Haynesville; Linley Kennedy, a sophomore from New Orleans; Makayla Harrell, a sophomore from Boyce; Austin Schulenberg, a junior from Baton Rouge; Aaron Gotte, a sophomore from Iota; and Samuel Konur, a sophomore from Thibodaux.
Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
