French Honor Society welcomes new members

Eleven participate in induction ceremony
Eleven students were inducted into the French Honor Society at LSMSA on Tuesday, May 9.

The chapter is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French, and the local sponsor is Dr. David Wood, principal lecturer of French.

Students are eligible for membership after their third semester of French. They must maintain an A average in all French courses and a B average overall.

The aims of the society are to recognize excellence performance in French courses and to promote the French language and culture.

The motto of the society is “L’homme qui sait deux langues en vaut deux.” Translation: A man who knows two languages is worth two.

Inductees are Colt Crain, a sophomore from Zachary; Elyse Duplantier, a sophomore from Zachary; Angela Fang, a junior from Mandeville; Edouard Ferrell, a junior from Natchitoches; Rachel Judson, a sophomore from Lake Charles; Ruby Kharod, a junior from Opelousas, Manjistha Lakhotia, a sophomore from Lafayette; Jacob Lognon, a junior from Athens, Claire Lucas, a junior from Baton Rouge; Hannah Miller, a junior from Baton Rouge; and Constance Schaefer, a senior from Morse.

Other members include Kennedy Ellender, a senior from Westlake; Kat Frost, a senior from Bossier City; Caroline Jin, a junior from Shreveport; Veronica Jimenez, a senior from Bogalusa; and Alexis Cambridge, a senior from Slidell.
