Two students from LSMSA won the top two prizes in the Louisiana Music Teachers Association district piano rally held Saturday, April 29, in Alexandria. Angela Fang, a junior from Mandeville, placed first and Kevin Pan, a junior from Lafayette, placed second. As a result of their high scores in performance, keyboard skills, sight reading and the music theory/history written test, they won the Outstanding Achievement award and both qualified for the state rally finals to be held Saturday, June 3, at Louisiana State University.
