Twelve to participate in Honor Band clinics

Performance set for Saturday, Feb. 4
Twelve students from LSMSA will participate in the Louisiana Music Educators Association District Honor Band clinic Feb. 3-4 at Tioga and Bolton high schools. Rehearsals will be held all day Friday and Saturday morning. A concert will be held at Bolton High School on Saturday afternoon.

Those in the Cavalier Band include Veronica Jimenez, a senior from Bogalusa, first chair flute; Sarah Green, a junior from Houma, fourth chair flute; Christian Hairr, a senior from Sulphur, bassoon; Marcos Cecchini, a senior from Denham Springs, first chair alto sax; Abby Pace, a junior from Iowa, second chair alto sax; Julian Hunter, a junior from Lafayette, third chair trumpet; Juan Cecchini, a sophomore from Denham Springs, third chair French horn; Jonas Truax, a sophomore from Denham Springs, first chair trombone; Emma Shupe, a junior from Baton Rouge, third chair trombone; and Garett Byrne, a junior from Walker, bass trombone.
Students in the Lafitte Band include Clara Kolterman, a junior from Sterlington, second chair flute; and Carrie Thomas, a senior from Denham Springs, third chair French horn.

District II includes Avoyelles, Grant, Natchitoches, Rapides, Red River, Sabine and Winn parishes.

The mission of the LMEA is to provide leadership, professional development and support for its membership to ensure quality music education.
