Interact Club to host free ACT workshop

Area students invited to participate in workshop
Members of the Interact Club at LSMSA will sponsor a free ACT workshop for area high school students from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, in the second floor classrooms in the High School Building.

Sessions to be offered include math, science, reading, English and writing. Members will review the types of questions students could expect on a standardized test, and several test questions will be looked at and broken apart.

The Interact Club is a service club that volunteers as often as possible. Members work with the community to facilitate food bank management, play bingo with senior citizens and keep the city beautiful through regular road and park cleanups.

The group also works with the Rotary Club annually to package and donate dictionaries to more than 600 elementary students throughout the parish.

The club emphasizes student-led initiatives, in which students come up with ideas to solve problems within the community.
