Members of the Class of 2018 at LSMSA attended a required meeting on Thursday, Sept. 15, to prepare for the upcoming PSAT/NMSQT.
The PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is a standardized test that most high schools in the United States administer to their 11th grade students.
Considered to be a ”preliminary SAT,” the PSAT test gives students a sense of the format, question types, content and time limits that they will encounter on the SAT.
Additionally, the PSAT test serves as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship program.
Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
