"LSMSA has so many wonderful things to offer, but for me, two of my favorites are the friends I have met and my teachers. "
Why did you choose to attend LSMSA?

I chose to attend LSMSA because I had obviously heard about it being from Natchitoches and I wanted to learn in a challenging academic environment with other students who cared about their studies. I was excited to be able to pursue all of my interests and not be judged because I liked learning.

Was your family supportive of your decision to attend LSMSA?

My family was very supportive of my decision to attend LSMSA. My parents encouraged me to apply because they knew my home school wasn’t challenging me enough and attending LSMSA was too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially since I would just be moving across my hometown.

What is the biggest difference between LSMSA and your home school?

The biggest difference between LSMSA and my home school is that the students here actually care about learning and doing well in school. They want to excel in their studies and enjoy a challenge.

What is your favorite thing about LSMSA?

LSMSA has so many wonderful things to offer, but for me, two of my favorites are the friends I have met and my teachers. Friends you meet here are genuine and like you for you. I have met some pretty wonderful people here that I would not have had the chance to meet by staying at my home school. My teachers are amazing as well. I was shocked whenever I came here because all of my teachers were fine with me asking them lots of questions about their subject and were always available to help me.

What activities are you involved with at LSMSA?

I am involved with the LSMSA Chorale, Catholic Club and the Future Scientists Program.

How do you balance your extracurricular activities with your school work?

Two words: Time management. There are not enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do and still sleep, so it all comes down to planning ahead to make sure I get all of my school work finished in a timely manner.

What is your favorite class and/or subject?

That is a really tough question for me because I find all of my classes really interesting and all of my teachers are so knowledgeable about their subjects, but I would have to say my science classes are my favorite. Another reason I came to LSMSA was because they offered science classes my school did not offer, so it is great to be able to take upper-level science courses that will prepare me for the future.

Who is your favorite instructor?

All of my teachers are amazing, so I can’t possibly choose one. The teachers I have now all really care about what they are teaching, and I respect all of them for that reason.

What do you like the most about living in the residence hall?

The thing I like most about living in the residence hall is that any time I have a question about homework or want to hang out with friends, I can just walk down the hall.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years, I see myself hopefully finishing up medical school and starting my residency.
