LSMSA invites academically motivated high school students and families to learn about tuition-free, college-level education

This spring, LSMSA is hosting a series of in-person and virtual events to help high-achieving, academically motivated high school students and their families learn more about the public, tuition-free residential school that has been educating the state's best and brightest since 1983.
Exploration Days are an excellent opportunity to get a first-hand look at the campus and learn what LSMSA is all about. Prospective students sit in on classes while parents hear from school administration. Parents and students tour the campus, hear from current LSMSA students, and have lunch in the dining hall. Exploration Days generally begin around 9:00 a.m. and conclude around 2:00 p.m. Students who are currently in the eighth grade or higher are encouraged to attend an Exploration Day with their parents. Students who are younger than eighth grade who are traveling with their older sibling may attend; however, they should accompany parents to all parent activities. Upcoming Exploration Days will be held:
  • Monday, January 23
  • Monday, March 20

If your schedule does not allow you to attend an Exploration Day, Saturday Tours offer an opportunity to see the campus and learn more about LSMSA. Saturday Tours will be held:
  • January 14 at 1:00 p.m.
  • February 4 at 10:00 a.m.

Representatives from LSMSA will host a virtual Information Session to meet interested students and their families, answer their questions, and present what the school has to offer. Join our Enrollment Services staff at the upcoming Virtual Information Session:
  • Tuesday, January 17, 7:00 p.m.
Register here for the Virtual Information Session.

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors at LSMSA are taught at the college level while gaining independent living skills to prepare them for the college experience and beyond. Students can earn up to 74 college credits while enrolled at the Louisiana School, and graduates are highly recruited by colleges and universities.

“These events are excellent opportunities to get a first-hand look at what LSMSA is all about,” said Heather Tichenor, LSMSA Assistant Director of Enrollment Services. “Students and their families can see the campus and speak directly with our team to learn more about why LSMSA could be a good fit for them.”
