Latin students celebrate victories for national exam results

Two place in National Greek Exam; sixteen recognized in National Latin Vocabulary Exam
In early March, LSMSA's Greek and Latin classes competed in two external exams offered by the American Classical League.

On Friday, March 6, LSMSA's Ancient Greek class competed in the "Beginning Attic" level of the National Greek Exam. 
 
Mila Griffith ('20) was awarded a Green Ribbon of Merit, and Gage Pinckley ('21) was awarded a Red Ribbon of High Merit.
 
On Monday, March 9, Latin classes took the online National Latin Vocabulary Exam co-adminstered by the American Classical League and the National Junior Classical League, an organization that promotes Classical Studies worldwide.

Sixteen students were recognized for their performance:
 
Latin 1 Silver Medalists: Noah Cambre ('20), Shawn Coats ('22), Abbie Davis ('21), Hannah Hartley ('21), Blake Martin ('21), Griffin McFarland ('22), Shelbi Rosenberg ('22)
 
Latin 1 Bronze Medalists: Jolie Daigle ('22), Alexandria Kurtz ('22), Shea-Lei Martin ('22)
 
Latin 2 Silver Medalist: Margaret Courtney ('21)
 
Latin 2 Bronze Medalists: Brianna Gahagan ('22), Cayla Garrett ('20), Angela Komsuprom ('21), Gage Pinckley ('21), Charles Zhang ('20)

The American Classical League celebrates, supports, and advances the teaching and learning of the Greek and Latin languages, literatures, and cultures and their timeless relevance. In 2019, the organization celebrated its 100-year anniversary.
