On Saturday, March 7, two LSMSA students won first place at the Natchitoches regional History Day competition. These students are eligible to move on to the state competition, which was originally scheduled for March, 28. Due to concerns over COVID-19, and the restrictions placed on large gatherings, the state competition has been canceled.

Sophia Abbahou ('21) of Prairieville won first place in the senior division paper competition. Her paper was titled: Breaking Barriers:Jewish-Americans in the Deep South.

Kaitlyn Kahn ('21) of Zachary won first place in the documentary category. Her work was called: Trailblazing and Pathmarking: Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
