Several LSMSA students have been recognized by the American Classical League / National Junior Classical League.
This past December, several students in Dr. Tichenor's Greek and Latin classes completed the online National Classical Etymology Exam, which tests their ability to recognize the two languages' derivatives and their usage in the English language.
Twenty students received recognition for their knowledge of the languages. Bronze medalists are: Ella Abney ('22), Daniel Breaux ('21), Marinna Curtis ('20), Mila Griffith ('20), Avery Johnson ('21), Alexandria Kurtz ('22), Blake Martin ('21), Eva McDonald ('21), Shelbii Rosenberg ('22), and Charles Zhang ('21).
Silver medalists are: Sneha Anthony ('21), Shawn Coats ('22), Jolie Daigle ('22), C.J. De Lara ('20), Brianna Gahagan ('22), Griffin McFarland ('22), Até McGhee ('22), Christopher Mong ('21), and Gage Pinckley ('21).
Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
