Five LSMSA students awarded medals from National Junior Classical League

With the revival of the JCL at LSMSA, several students participated in the organization's Etymological Exam this past fall.
In November, several students from the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) participated in the National Classical Etymology Exam. The test was provided by the National Junior Classical League (NJCL).

Of the students that competed, it was recently announced that five have won medals for their respective grades and Latin course levels.

The five students are: Gage Pinckley ('21) who received a gold medal; Sarah Johnson ('21) and Jacqueline Schlamp ('21), who received silver medals; and Garrett Pattison ('19) and Athena Pham ('20), who received bronze medals.

The test was administered online, and awards were given based on individual scores.

In addition to Latin, LSMSA students have the opportunity to learn German, Chinese and Arabic. For more information about language course offerings, visit www.LSMSA.edu/languages.
