LSMSA Foundation Welcomes New Trustees

Three new trustees joined board on July 1.
The board of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts Foundation welcomed three new trustees.

“We’re very excited to welcome our three newest trustees to the board,” Foundation Executive Director Angela Robinson said. “They bring a wide range of professional and personal experiences, including involvement with other non-profit organizations, and I think that LSMSA will benefit from their individual perspectives. I’m looking forward to getting to know each of them better as we work together over the next three years.”

Dr. Grant Belgard
, class of 2004, is new to the board. He is a senior scientist at Verge Genomics, a drug discovery biotech startup in San Francisco. Belgard quadruple majored in sciences subjects at Rice University and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Oxford and is an executive MBA student at the Smartly School of Business. He lives near Destin, Florida.

Paul Carter
, class of 1991, works in research and development for Texas Instruments. A Navy veteran, he also works with Team RWB, a veterans service organization that helps veterans through physical and social activities. Carter also frequently caters LSMSA and alumni events with his barbecue, which has become a draw in and of itself. He lives in McKinney, Texas.

Dr. Cashman Prince
, class of 1988, is general manager of Music for Food in Boston. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and Université de Paris 8. Prince was a professor in the U.S. and Canada.

“The school fundamentally changed me,” he says. “I wouldn’t be here professionally and personally without the school.”
