Twelve visit Happy Tails to walk dogs

Also serve meals and help pack boxes at food bank
Twelve students from LSMSA participated in community service during Special Projects Week held in January. They served meals at Manna House, helped pack boxes at the Alexandria food bank and helped elderly families in the Natchitoches area with projects in and around their homes. One of the highlights of the week was visiting Happy Tails, the no-kill shelter of the Natchitoches Humane Society located on the grounds of the Natchitoches Detention Center, to walk dogs. Faculty sponsors were Mike McGrath, senior lecturer of mathematics and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, and David Zolzer, adjunct instructor of computer science. The 12 students are Gabrielle Blanchard, a senior from Houma; Hannah Miller, a senior from Baton Rouge; Chelsea Franklin, a senior from Crowley; Kiran Kaur, a junior from Lake Charles; Emma Millisor, a senior from Anacoco; Gabriella Papillion, a senior from Oberlin; Kathryn Lee, a sophomore from Natchitoches; Abigail LeBlanc, a junior from Fordoche; Olufunke Adeleye, a sophomore from Natchitoches; Ryann Hamilton, a sophomore from Baton Rouge; Jordan Byrd, a junior from Denham Springs; and Bryson Landry, a senior from Franklin.
