Lafayette artist Susan David speaks about her work
Students and members of the faculty and staff at LSMSA attended the closing reception for Lafayette artist Susan David on Thursday, Dec. 7, in the lobby of the Center for Performance and Technology. Her show, “WhitchBitch,” was a reconstruction of the feminine. It played with themes of language, violence, the symbolic nature of water, mysticism and religion, abjection and the uncanny. After the first of the year, the art gallery will host a new painting show by artist Ricky Sykes, who is a second-year Master of Fine Arts student at Louisiana Tech University. The art gallery at LSMSA is open from 12 to 4 p.m. daily or by appointment. For more information, contact Chris King at cking@lsmsa.edu
