Three instructors attend national conference in St. Louis

Biology teachers learn about new activities for their classrooms
Three biology instructors from LSMSA attended the 2017 Professional Development Conference of the National Association of Biology Teachers held Nov. 9-12 in St. Louis.

Dr. Jason Anderson, Dr. Maggie Hodge and Dr. Allison Landry attended numerous sessions on different topics that are of interest in their classes.

Landry, principal lecturer of biology and chair of the Department of Science, participated in sessions on human anatomy, microbiology, botany and general biology. Hodge, lecturer of biology, attended sessions in ecology, genetics and general biology. Anderson attended sessions on molecular genetics and general biology.

“We were able to speak with vendors about products they offer for our classrooms and learn about new activities to implement in our classrooms,” said Landry.

The National Association of Biology Teachers is the leader in life science education and its members represent all grade levels. Members teach more than one million students each year.
