Informational meetings set to begin Oct. 12

Prospective students and their parents should mark their calendars now to attend one of 12 informational meetings scheduled to be held this fall throughout the state to learn more about LSMSA.

A representative from the Office of Enrollment Services will be available at various locations during the months of October, November and December to answer questions and talk about the application process.

The first meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, in the meeting room of the Martin Luther King Jr. Branch Library located in Alexandria.

The next week, on Thursday, Oct. 19, a representative will be in Jackson Hall on the Centenary College campus at 6:30 p.m.

Room 104 of Beauregard Hall on the campus of Nicholls State University will be the location for the third meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, in Thibodaux.

On Thursday, Oct. 26, a meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Thielen Conference room located in the Calcasieu Central Library in Lake Charles.

The common room at the Lincoln Parish Library in Ruston will be the host for a 6:30 p.m. meeting on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the meeting room of the Main Branch Library in Monroe.

The East Bank Regional Library in Metairie will be the site of the Tuesday, Nov. 14, meeting at 6:30 p.m.

A meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, in the large meeting room of the St. Tammany Library in Slidell.

A meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, in the Jimmy Long Sr. Boardroom located on the LSMSA campus.

A meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in the French House, Welcome Center, located on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus.

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, a meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Albany-Springfield Branch Library in Hammond.

The last meeting of the semester will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, at the EBR Main Library in Baton Rouge.

LSMSA has been ranked in the top one percent in the nation, and the faculty have been ranked the third best in the nation, on Niche’s 2018 Best Public High Schools in America list.

It is the only state-funded residential high school for high achieving and highly motivated sophomores, juniors and seniors. Each year students from all across the state seek admission. Students from public, private and parochial schools, as well as those who are home schooled, are encouraged to apply. Admission is highly competitive. LSMSA offers college level classes in a disciplined, nurturing environment. Students are exposed to rich opportunities through an extensive curriculum in all subject areas.
