LSMSA's Math Competition is open to middle schools that are interested in competing on the individual and group level.
To be eligible to participate, students must be in grades six through nine and may not be enrolled in or have already taken Algebra II or any higher mathematics course. Each school may bring a maximum of 12 students.
The competition will consist of two parts: Individual and Team Competitions. The exercises on each contest will come from Algebra, Geometry, and other areas of mathematics. The exercises will not come from any specific curriculum. The questions will be designed to challenge students to draw from their knowledge of mathematics and to think, synthesize concepts, and solve problems.
