Dr. Debbie Troxclair

President, Association for Gifted/Talented Students of LA
Dr. Debbie Troxclair, current President of AGTS Louisiana, is an alumna of the University of New Orleans ('78 Elementary Education and '87 M.Ed. Special Education-Emphasis Gifted Education) and The University of Southern Mississippi  ('97 Ph.D. Special Education with Emphasis in Gifted Education). Dr. Troxclair taught gifted pull-out classes for St. Tammany Parish Schools from 1983 to 1999.
She has formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Gifted & Talented Students and on the Board of Directors for The Association for the Gifted-Council for Exceptional Children. As an Associate Professor in the Educational Leadership Department at Lamar University, Dr. Troxclair currently teaches graduate level special education and gifted education in Lamar University's 100% online graduate programs. She is the recipient of the TAG-CEC 2024 Service Award.
