LSMSA to host Evening of Voice

The event will showcase the musical talents of 13 LSMSA voice students.
The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) will be hosting its Evening of Voice event on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Center for Performance and Technology Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The event serves as the final performance exam, called a jury, for students in the Private Voice class taught by LSMSA’s Senior Lecturer of Voice and Chorale Lisa Benner.

“The event is a culmination of the pieces studied in weekly lessons over the course of the semester,” said Benner. “There are 13 students from the studio who will each present three or four songs from memory.”

The 13 students who will be performing are Elaina Bachman (’21), Coyt Bailey (’20), Chirstan Bates (’20), Madi Bolin (’19), Luke Boston (’19), Christopher Comeaux (’19), Brynlee Daigle (’19), Camren Hohn (’19), Goldie Howard (’20), Allison Johnson (’21), Madi Kavanaugh (’21), Arden Miller (’19), and Sydney Sorbet (’20).

All students will be accompanied by Senior Lecturer of Piano Dr. Charles Jones.

LSMSA’s Music Department offers both voice and instrumental lessons in private and ensemble settings. For more information on course offerings, visit www.LSMSA.edu/arts.
