Dr. Arthur S. Williams

Gubernatorial Appointee

A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Dr. Arthur Williams graduated with a doctorate in English with specialization in Restoration and Eighteenth-Century English Literature from Emory University. He joined the teaching staff at LSMSA in 1984, and served as the school's third Executive Director from 1990-1994. He retired after 32 years of service to LSMSA. In 2017, he was bestowed the honor of Executive Director Emeritus at LSMSA and continues to offer classes in a limited capacity.

Dr. Williams was appointed to the board in February 2020.

As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
