Communication

As of March 23 at 9:30 AM:

On campus personnel is even more limited due to the Governor's Stay at Home Proclamation. All outside visitations are suspended at this time. Please utilize email to reach all faculty and staff.

However, as a state agency, LSMSA remains open at the direction of Louisiana's Commissioner of Administration. The main line for the School will always be covered - 318-357-2500. If your call is unanswered, please leave a voice mail with contact information, and we will return your call as soon as we can.

Email will be the most reliable means of communicating with school employees.

This website will continue to be our primary source of information and updates related to School operations. Additionally, you may choose to follow our updates on social media - Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Events & Meetings

Following the guidance of health officials about large group gatherings, and in accordance with ongoing state and national travel advisories, large-scale events on and off-campus have been postponed or cancelled. This is for the safety of the LSMSA Community and to minimize the risk of further transmission of infectious diseases and viruses.

All school-sponsored travel is prohibited except essential business travel. Personal travel by faculty, staff, and students is discouraged. Following a Public Health Emergency Proclamation issued by Governor Edwards, faculty and staff should submit their personal travel information here

Questions about event attendance should be addressed with the club sponsors, trip advisors, or school administration.

Prevention

LSMSA encourages all members of the School Community to employ the following social distancing techniques:
  • Keep at least six feet between yourself and another person in all public spaces.
  • Avoid close contact, including handshakes and hugging.
Prevention measures are similar to those utilized against the common cold and flu. Please wash your hands thoroughly and avoid touching your face with unwashed hands. Do not share drinks or food with others.

The School is conducting more frequent cleaning in common areas and on commonly touched surfaces, including in the dining hall and residence hall common spaces. Additionally, students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to help by keeping their personal spaces, rooms, and offices as clean as possible.

For more guidance on prevention methods, visit the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and the Louisiana Department of Health websites.
