Students at LSMSA are in the final stretch of the fall semester and gearing up for finals. Using funds from its annual fund, the LSMSA Foundation provides snacks and study prep items for students in advance of finals week each year. On Thursday, Dec. 1, Foundation staff members handed out goodie bags to all students in the lobby of the Center for Performance and Technology. The goodie bags include healthy snacks, note cards, pencils, hot cocoa and other items to assist students with studying. “The intent is to give our students a small pick-me-up during what is surely a stressful time,” said Katja Thomakas, executive director of the LSMSA Foundation.
Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
