LSMSA Homecoming Weekend

October 22-24, 2010

Friday (9:00 am-4:00 by prior arrangement)

·         Visit with faculty or staff members; seeemail addresses and schedules at http://www.lsmsa.edu/content.cfm?id=52to schedule a visit.

·         Attend a class of your choosing. (For alumni and children in 5^th-10^th grades). Contact admissions at swilliams@lsmsa.edunot later than October 20 for a class schedule and permission to attend classes. Younger potential gifties are welcomed to visit the admissions office with their parents for a special treat.

·         Get LSMSA T-shirts and other gear from 1-2 pm. Proceeds from the Eagle’s Nest support student activities. The Eagle’s Nest is in the lobby of the Center for Performance & Technology.

6:00 pm and 7:00 Basketball
LSMSA girls and LSMSA guys vs. Central High - Gym     
Email Dale Clingerman at dclingerman@lsmsa.edu if you are attending so we can reserve space for an alumni cheering section.

·         Dutch treat dinner; location TBD after the last basketball game ends.
 

Saturday
 
                  9:30-11:00 service project; Part of National Make a Difference Day,

·         This part of homecoming will allow alumni, alumni families, and students to work together to make a difference on LSMSA’s campus or in the community. The scope of the project will depend on number of RSVPs to TC Veit tveit@lsmsa.edu. We are looking for sponsors for supplies and materials. If your employer has a Make a Difference Day grant project, contact Catherine Credeur (’89), LSMSAAA Natchitoches liaison, ASAP at catherinecredeur@hotmail.com.

11:00-1:00 student vs. alumni co-ed basketball games, gym

1:00:-3:00 student vs. alumni co-ed volleyball games, gym

                     *RSVP to Dale Clingerman at dclingerman@lsmsa.edu if you want to play. Bring appropriate clothing and shoes. All alumni + families are invited to the gym to cheer for the alumni teams.

2:00-6:00 Eaglestock, between CPT and NSU’s Morrison Hall Student-led fall carnival with music and games. Food is available for purchase and supports student activities. Family-appropriate atmosphere.

 3:30-4:30Eagle’s Nest open again for LSMSA memorabilia purchases.

6:30-8:30 Film Festival; CPT.

*Film festival is primarily for student submissions and student works have priority in judging. However, alumni works under 30 minutes in length will be considered as space is available. Submissions are due by October 9^th to

Sunday AM: Dutch treat brunch and check out the fancy new cafeteria in the CPT.  No more Valley of Death! Cost $5. Brunch served from 10:30-1:00.

Hotel accommodations: Hotel blocks will be released on October 8^th. Call the hotel directly (not corporate 1-800#) and ask for the LSMSA Alumni Association rate. All hotels are clustered together just east of the Hwy. 6 exit off I-49, heading towards the LSMSA campus. Turn off for the hotel driveways is at Shoney’s Restaurant.
